Perfect Giddimani, born Greg Rose on March 26, 1980, is a roots singer and producer from Bamboo, in the hills of St. Ann.

His mother sang in church, his grandfather led a banjo band, and his father repaired jukeboxes and rigged one so that the children could play it without coins, which left him singing along to soul, country, pop, and reggae. He recorded first as Little Ninja, performed locally from about the age of nine as Mr. Perfect, and deejayed on a sound system called Trend Setter, for which he cut his first dubplates. He attended York Castle High School, as Jackie Mittoo had a generation earlier, and then went to Kingston, working around Penthouse, King Jammy's, and Arrows.

With his brother Kirk he built Askum, the first digital studio in Bamboo, out of equipment their father brought back from New York, and the two taught themselves to record from the manuals. Their label was Chalice Palace, and Giddimani Records followed. "Lock Me Up" put his name on Jamaican radio in 2004, and "Hand Cart Bwoy," voiced on a riddim the producer Rebel Chris gave him, was a number one in Jamaica and made his name in Europe.

The debut album Giddimani appeared in 2006 on the Austrian label DHF, and Born Dead With Life on Irievibrations in 2008. He has since worked with Irie Ites and VP, and has recorded with Dean Fraser, Nambo Robinson, the Roots Radics, and Mafia and Fluxy. Christian Moll found him "versatile in register," with "an almost ironic positivity" on one track of Reggae Farm Work and "a good load of aggressiveness" on another. His records circulate mainly through the European roots labels rather than the Jamaican mainstream.
