Sevana is a singer of the reggae revival whose soulful, R&B-tinged records came out through Protoje's In.Digg.Nation Collective and, later, RCA.
Born Anna-Sharé Blake in Savanna-la-Mar, she entered Digicel Rising Stars at sixteen, in 2008, with two schoolmates as the girl group SLR, which placed third; after it broke up she left music for several years, working after school at Manning's in customer service and waitressing. She came back in 2014 as the voice on Protoje's "Sudden Flight," from Ancient Future, and in April 2015 he signed her to In.Digg.Nation, with which she toured that summer.
Her self-titled EP came out in 2016, "Justice" (2018) took on climate change, and Be Somebody (2020), with "If You Only Knew," was her major-label debut, on RCA; Gardy Stein heard on it a lower key that "highlights the velvet in Sevana's throat." In 2022 she left the collective. She has continued to perform with Protoje, as at the Grenada Caribbean Music Festival in 2025.
